Seaglass Restaurant, Salisbury, Massachusetts

For my in-laws recent wedding anniversary my wife was trying to think of a restaurant that was not too far of a drive but something a little bit different for a special celebration. Since they love the ocean she remembered our enjoyable visit to the Seaglass Restaurant a few years ago. Remembering the beautiful views and delicious food this seemed like the ideal location.

If you like spectacular views of the water while you eat dinner you will love the Seaglass Restaurant. They have combined great food with huge windows that overlook the water which creates a lovely atmosphere. You don't have to worry about the cold weather either because they have a cozy inside dining room so you can stay warm while watching the waves lap against the side of the building. Needless to say if you do decide to take us up on our suggestion try to get a reservation for the tables next to the windows as those provide the most spectacular view.

The restaurant is large and there is a good sized bar as you enter the space on your left. Our table was ready when we arrived so we were seated immediately. When we went they just changed to their fall beverage menu and my wife and mother-in-law had the fall sangria which was a hit with both of them. It was a delicious combination of white wine, cranberries, cinnamon, and apples.

Start out with a cup of onion soup on a late fall or early winter day:

How about some Haddock Oscar: topped with a bernaise sauce, lobster meat, and asparagus, it’s no wonder this is a customer favorite.

I ordered the swordfish which is one of my favorite fishes and it did not disappoint.

And for dessert, the peanut butter and brownie trifle. Fantastic!

A few suggestions for things to do in the area:

Head to Newburyport for some great shopping downtown.

In the warmer months there are Plum Island and Salisbury beach.
