Yarmouth Clam Festival July 21st to the 23rd

Mark you calendars for the Yarmouth Clam festival scheduled for July 21st through the 23rd in Yarmouth, Maine. This is one that we keep going back to year after year and is definitely worth a drive if you are looking for something to do that weekend.

Our favorite part of this other than the food-of course-is that the community is involved in almost everything including parking, booths and events that are sponsored by local clubs or organizations. This is something that you don't see very often these days where a town takes responsibility for the success and really gets involved. Plus the money that they earn is going back to help the high school basketball team for example.

They have a large area with munching stations as far as the eye can see and that means a stop at the ski club for their fried clam strips.

These have a hard crunchy outer shell, amazing!

How about some jumbo shrimp, these are so good.

And let's throw some onion rings into the mix, get them while their hot!

On to the First Parish Church and dessert

of blueberry pie just like grandma makes

and strawberry shortcake.

Looking for something to do along with eating yourself into a frenzy. There is a huge craft area for any shoppers in your group. Carnival rides and the fireman's muster, one that we watched a few years back and draws a large crowd. But this is only a few of what you can find on their website.
