Jordan Pond House Restaurant, Acadia National Park, Seal Harbor, Maine

When I was a kid (many years ago) my family visited Acadia National Park and the Jordan Pond House Restaurant. Although I have visited as an adult, It has been a long time and after a recent trip, I realized what I had missed. It's now time for you to experience the same... on the road to Maine.

You might not expect to find a wonderful restaurant within such a beautiful national park. When the park loop road ends and you think that it can't get any better somehow it does and you find the Jordan Pond House Restaurant.

For those of you who are not aware of Acadia National Park it is the only national park in New England. Here you will find some of the most spectacular views of the ocean and mountains on the east coast.

The Jordan Pond House is known for their famous popovers shown below:

For lunch we had their chicken salad sandwich, delicious!

And the views are spectacular:

Here are a few suggestions of things to do in the area:

Within the park itself, head over to Sand Beach to soak up some sun and take a dip in the frigid ocean water, if you dare. You can also visit the Wild Gardens of Acadia at Sieur de Monts Springs where you will find carnivorous plants.
